MISSION: It is the mission of Capron Park Zoo to excite an interest in the natural world through conservation, education and recreation.
HISTORY: For nearly 75 years, Capron Park Zoo has been a premiere family attraction in southern New England. By providing the public with exciting education opportunities and a clean, aesthetically pleasing recreational facility, we hope to promote an appreciation and understanding of animals all over the world.
It is our goal to reach our visitors with the values of animal conservation, ecological awareness and appreciation of all living things. We hope our efforts will inspire our visitors to become life-long learners and advocates for conservation - on whatever level they can.
LARGER ZOO COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Capron Park Zoo is proud to be an accedited member of the Association of Zoo and Aquariums, and a full participant in a number of Species Survival Plans. By being involved with these and other organizations, the zoo is helping to contribute to health, well-being and preservation of species worldwide.
