Annual Fall Gala!

Please join us for this year’s event which is inspired by the festive, colorful and extravagant atmosphere of Carnival.  It will feature elements from the rich culture of Rio de Janeiro and South America.

Chamber of Commerce After Hours at the Zoo

The Friends had a great turnout last year on June 22, 2011 when we hosted the United Regional Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours at the Zoo.This event has been a great way to keep the local business community familiar with the Zoo grounds, exhibits, and all the fund raising efforts the Friends are undertaking. The greater Attleboro business community has always been a great supporter of the Friends, and we hope to continue this valuable and mutually beneficial relationship.

Annual Fall Gala-Passport to Africa, September 20, 2011

Last September the Friends hosted its first annual fall gala entitled Passport to Africa. The event was a tremendous success, showcasing the Zoo and the Friends' fund raising efforts. Over 200 people attended to enjoy African music, food, art and of course, the zoo's African species (as well as all the others!). A number of local businesses and individuals showed their support for our fund-raising goals by purchasing special donor tables and their support was greatly appreciated. Local media gave plenty of coverage, and the event was featured on local cable television. It was a great start to what we hope will be an annual event.

For the fall of 2012 we hope to offer another Passport event that features a different part of the world...perhaps South America, Asia or Australia-the possibilities are myriad. Who knows what place and culture will be featured? Stay tuned for announcements and details!
